Program Description:
The Faculty of Environmental Studies (FES) is at the leading edge of environmental education and research. The largest graduate school in environmental studies in Canada, FES offers interdisciplinary and self-directed graduate programs that address a wide range of research interests encompassing natural, built, social and organizational environments. The MES degree may also be pursued as a planning degree recognized by the Canadian Institute of Planners, offering professional certification in planning (through the Ontario Professional Planners Institute(OPPI)). PhD: Canada's only doctoral program in environmental studies has a unique interdisciplinary focus that encourages students to pursue their interests from a range of approaches. FES doctoral students stem from diverse backgrounds from the social and natural sciences to the humanities, yet form a close-knit community of interacting scholars.
