Art (M.F.A.)

Format: Campus

Program Description:

The Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) is a distinctive and uniquely integrative, interdisciplinary program designed as a professional degree for the fine artist, craftsperson, designer, or media artist, or for those wishing to teach at the college or university level. The program is 60 credits and takes two years for full-time students and five years for part-time students. Students select a concentration in fine arts, design arts, or media arts and choose from course offerings that include computer animation, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, graphic media design, textile design, and furniture design. Fully equipped studios in all areas provide the resources necessary for the actualization of a wide range of two- and three-dimensional work.
The concentration of distinguished artists and scholars in the NYC area allows for fluent interaction between students and influential working professionals. The program makes full use of this rich resource for student internships, visiting lectures, and Visiting Artist's Workshops. The program also offers provision for one semester of foreign study.
