Program Description:

The program offers students experiences in community settings such as youth advocacy and development organizations, prevention oriented human service organizations, community mental health centers, and highly innovative neighborhood and advocacy oriented groups. Students will gain theoretical foundations in key areas of psychological theories which typically provide the basis for community interventions: i.e. biological/philosophical foundations, cognitive/learning foundations, personality and individual differences, and social/developmental foundations. Students can expect to gain general skills in needs assessment, program implementation and development, and program evaluation.
