Program Description:
Admission to the program requires a bachelor's degree and either two or more years of experience in a job related to rehabilitation counseling and/or serving individuals with disabilities or concurrent enrollment in a master's program in counseling. The certificate program requires the student to complete 12 to 18 credits of classroom or distance learning coursework. Students may select from the following courses: RC 580 (Theory of Rehabilitation Counseling), RC 582 (Introduction to Rehabilitation Counseling), RC 585 (Social, Psychological and Attitudinal Aspects of Disabilities), RC 586 (Medical Aspects of Disabilities), RC 587 (Utilization of Tests and Evaluation Tools), RC 588 (Occupational Information and Career Development), and RC 590 (Employment Strategies and Job Placement).
