Program Description:
Western University is located in the metropolitan Los Angeles area. Our Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program provides students with a strong research base and the training and skills needed to apply for Ph.D. programs, or for a research career in academia, the biotech industry or public/private research institutions. The two-year full time program offers 40 units of core courses and electives in biotechnology and biomedical sciences. You will also conduct independent research in Western’s well-equipped labs and and complete a research-based thesis by the end of your second year. A faculty advisor will help you select a research topic and and mentor you throughout your thesis work. The program also offers full tuition waivers and NIH-level stipends to admitted students. Admission requirements include the GRE exam and a bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.
