Program Description:

The Doctor of Ministry program is an advanced professional degree intended for persons engaged in some aspect of full-time Christian ministry, such as the pastorate, Christian education, chaplaincy, evangelism, music and worship ministry, and related areas of service. The program features an emphasis in Pastoral Leadership. Doctor of Ministry students will complete eight three-hour courses and a six-hour written dissertation, earning a total of 30 semester hours. In addition, the student will conduct a final, oral dissertation demonstration.

Accreditation:

Western Seminary is accredited to award master's and doctor's degrees by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), and is an accredited member of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) in the United States and Canada.

International Student Requirements:

Prior to applying to the DMIN program, an international student must complete a pre-application. To request a pre-application, send an email to admiss@westernseminary.edu. Applicants, for whom English is not their first language, are required to demonstrate evidence of mastery of the English language for graduate study. The standard for this is through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). For admission to the DMIN program, the seminary requires a minimum score of 20 on each of the four section tests of the TOEFL-iBT (550 on the paper-based exam or 213 on the computer-based exam and a 3.5 writing score). In addition, international students must provide a financial guarantee that will cover their study and living expenses for one year.
