Program Description:
Fully approved by NASPE/NASSM Program Review in 2001, the program has prepared qualified graduate and undergraduate students since 1981. Graduates have made significant contributions in a variety of sport settings including intercollegiate athletics, professional sports, facilities and arenas, event marketing and promotions, as well as other sport businesses.
The master’s degree curriculum requires completion of 36 credit hours, including a six-hour internship. In addition to the required sport management classes, candidates may take elective classes in management, marketing, advertising, journalism and public relations. The degree may be completed in a calendar year, although the internship could extend beyond that time frame, depending upon the needs of the intern host.
