Program Description:

The Master of Fine Arts curriculum is a three year program of intensive practical training. Specialization's are offered in Acting, Costume Design, Lighting Design, Scenic Design, Stage Management and Theatre Management.The Master of Arts curriculum is a two year program of general theatre studies. The degree requires thirty-two credit hours and is offered with a thesis or essay option.
The Ph.D curriculum is designed to train the theatre scholar-director. The scholar-director is a theatre artist, teacher and scholar who is prepared by training and experience to assume primary responsibility for the production of plays from a wide range of historical periods.

International Student Requirements:

International applicants must complete the equivalent of a US four-year degree, including all state and external/internal examinations required for the degree/diploma. All applicants are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English to the Office of Graduate Admissions. A minimum score of 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based) or 79 (Internet based) is required on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), 6.5 is required on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or 85 is required on the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB).
