The Department enthusiastically promotes and practices multidisciplinary interaction reaching to all corners of the campus. These interactions involve not only faculty from other departments within the School of Engineering and Applied Science, but also affiliate faculty from the Washington University School of Medicine School , the Institute for Biomedical Computing (a joint facility of the Engineering and Medical schools), the Central Institute for the Deaf, and the Physics and Chemistry departments at Washington University.
