Program Description:
Study in the design disciplines at WSU Spokane is in the unique context of the Interdisciplinary Design Institute, which brings together architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture. The Master of Architecture (M Arch) provides the ultimate preparation for professional practice in architecture. M Arch students engage in design studios and coursework in architectural design, site design, structures, technology, and history and theory. They also complete a two-semester graduate studio project. Graduates of the program, which is accredited by the National Architecture Accrediting Board, may participate in an architectural internship program and will qualify to sit for the state architecture licensing examination. WSU Spokane also offers a Master of Science in Architecture, a post-professional research and advanced specialization degree that does not lead to architectural registration. Most students enter with a first professional degree in architecture or another design discipline.
