Program Description:

The graduate training program in Biochemistry and Molecular biology is designed to prepare students for careers of investigation and teaching in biochemistry, molecular biology, and in related sciences that involve biochemical, structural and molecular approaches and techniques. The Department of Biochemistry at Wake Forest University School of Medicine is a highly interactive group consisting of 26 full-time faculty, 10 postdoctoral fellows, 27 graduate students, and 40 research and administrative staff. Our mission is to undertake research on the molecular basis of diseases that affect humanity, train a new generation of scientists and physicians, and provide a collaborative link between other biomedical sciences and more basic sciences, such as chemistry and physics.The Department features research and training in four key technologies that form the core of modern Biochemistry:Structural Biology Molcular BiologyGenetics/GenomicsProteomics/ Metabolomics
