Program Description:

With the Master's Biomolecular Sciences students can further develop their skills and performance in molecular and cellular research and prepare themselves for an (inter)national research position. The focus is on the issue how molecular and cellular interactions lead to biological function in health and disease. It therewith covers genetics, genomics, microbiology, structural biology, molecular biology, biophysics, biochemistry, cell physiology, bioinformatics, immunology and infection. The Master's Biomolecular Sciences offers a choice between two variants. Cell biology The Master's program Cell Biology has been developed for students with a Bachelor's degree in Biology or Biomedical Sciences or any other relevant Bachelor's degree (for instance Chemistry or HLO) and will be organized by the Institute for Molecular Cell Biology (IMC) from the Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences (FALW) in collaboration with the department of Molecular Cell Biology and Immunology at the VU Medical Center (VUmc). The program has several biomedical aspects.
