Program Description:
The Department of Biostatistics in the School of Medicine offers advanced graduate study leading to the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The department also offers an MS in Biostatistics-Clinical Research for professionals holding terminal degrees. All applicants to this degree must have earned a M.D., D.D.S., R.N., Pharm.D., or equivalent health science degree. Current research interests in the department include: response surface applications to biomedical problems; correlation analysis; sequential analysis; multivariate analysis; statistical analysis of toxicology studies; multidimensional scaling; linear models; categorical data analysis; statistical analysis of clinical trials; epidemiological and demographic research; applications of Bayesian statistics to the medical sciences; robust statistics; stochastic modeling; time series analysis; statistical computing and survival analysis.
