Program Description:
The Department of Health Services Administration in the School of Allied Health Professions offers a Ph.D. in Health Services Organization and Research. This program is a challenging 57-credit program that prepares individuals for positions as faculty, researchers, policy analysts and top-level staff in complex health organizations. Students learn to apply research methods and scientific knowledge drawn from the behavioral and managerial sciences to the study of health organizations, services and systems. Courses are distributed across four areas: foundations of health services organization and research, health services organization theory, health services research methods, and an area of specialization. The course work is sequenced so that it can be completed in two years of full-time study or three years of part-time study (exclusive of dissertation research).
