Program Description:

The Department of Gerontology in the School of Allied Health Professions offers a 22-credit hour Certificate in Aging Studies in Long Term Care Administration. The emphasis of the certificate is to prepare qualified students to apply for licensure as nursing home administrators. The Department of Gerontology also offers a 17-credit hour Certificate in Aging Studies. This certificate is designed for persons already working with the elderly but who have no formal academic training in gerontology or those persons with who have a degree and wish to integrate aging into his/her field.
