Program Description:
A minimum of 30 graduate credits is required for the Master of Arts in Education degree. A student may choose to take all 30 credits in Education or to combine credits in Education with graduate credits in a subject or teaching field. Upon receiving approval of the Department of Education and Counseling, a student may undertake the writing of a thesis in lieu of six semester-hour course credits.
All students are required to complete three one-credit workshops from a selection of listings approved for Graduate Teacher Education students. Prior to being awarded the degree, students must pass a comprehensive examination. This may be taken following the completion of 24 credits.
