The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Science at Vanderbilt University emphasizes the basic science of psychology, the faculty are particularly concerned with research on adult cognitive abilities, the lifetime development of cognitive and neural function, adult and adolescent psychopathology (with a particular focus on cognitive, emotional, and neuropsychological dysfunction), and the development, organization and the function of the nervous system as it relates to these abilities and maladies.
