Program Description:

All students required to qualify at the MS or PhD level by the end of their first academic year. PhD students required to take an addition qualifier examination with both written and oral components after classwork completed. MS students doing the reserach option must take at least 24 class credits and 21 research credits. Of the 135 credits for a PhD, approximately 50% should be class credits. All credit counts based on the present quarter system, they will scale when we move to semesters in fall 1998.
