Program Description:
Ursuline College offers a Master of Arts Degree in Education, the Master Apprenticeship Program (MAP) for Teachers. The program is intended for recent college graduates or for those who wish to make a career change to education. The MAP program is a program is a full-time, intensive program that encompasses 41-44 semester hours (56 for Special Education) of graduate coursework. It is designed to lead to both a Master’s degree and eligibility for state teaching licensure in just one year. Students may also choose to follow a part-time format which would take approximately 2-3 years to complete.
Ursuline College offers five specific programs: Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, Adolescent to Young Adult, Multi-Age Visual Arts, and Special Education licensure. Students are placed in a classroom where they work with a mentor teacher throughout the academic year. Additionally, academic course work is completed at the school site and on the Ursuline College campus during and after school hours.
