Program Description:

The Department of Mathematics is committed to offering excellence in our graduate program and undergraduate education. We are small enough to be able to provide personalized education, yet large enough to have a good variety of courses. We have programs in both pure and applied mathematics which provide breadth and also depth in your area of interest. Our faculty is widely recognized for their teaching and research. Many of our instructors have won university, national and international awards. Our main active research areas are applied mathematics, analysis, algebra and combinatorics, and mathematics education. There is also a wide variety of interdisciplinary research with geologists, engineers, computer scientists, educators and others. This expertise is incorporated into both our courses and the independent research conducted by our students.
