Program Description:

An M.S. in Risk Control will prepare you to assist an organization to identify, analyze and ultimately control the various risks that are inherent in its manufacturing and/or service-based processes. Students learn to: 1) integrate throry with realistic, practical problem-solving experineces in local industrial settings, 2) develop a broad technical base in employee safety and health, workplace design and engineering, regulatory compliance, and risk finance, as well as public, property and environmental protection, and 3) develop managerial skills to promote effectiveness within all levels of an organization.

The Graduate School of UW-Stout is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools (NCA) to offer programs at the master's and education specialist levels.

International Student Requirements:

Admission requirements include: (1) Admission to a graduate degree program and the Graduate School; (2) English Competency: Minimum required scores on the following are required: an IELTS score of 6.5, or TOEFL: 70 (iBT) 523 (paper). TOEFL scores under 79 [iBT (composite)], 550 (paper-based) will be required to take at least one advanced level language course through UW-Stout’s ESL program. Students admitted to the program whose English language skills are subsequently judged to be less than sufficient may be required to complete additional language preparation. Test scores should be sent directly to UW-Stout (school code #1740) Also required: Official copies of all post-secondary transcripts (translated into English), including proof of baccalaureate and/or highest earned degree; Undergraduae GPA of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale); Evidence of sufficient financial resources to complete a degree program; Non-refundable application fee payable to UW-Stout in U.S. funds.
