Program Description:
The focus of this master's degree program is the application of psychological theory to organizational and social problems which exist in a variety of venues - for profit, non-profit and educational. Students are educated broadly in the field and choose from concentrations in: Industrial/Organization Psychology, Health Psychology or Program Evaluation. A guiding tenant of the program is the recognition of the inherent complexity of social problems and that effective solutions cross disciplines. Statistic and research methodology are used to verify the success of change. The faculty is strong in laboratory as well as field methodology. Psychology research labs are well equipped for students to explore interest areas such as psychophysiology, cognitive psychology, and social psychology and perception. Practical experience is an integral part of program coursework. Graduates are prepared to be agents and facilitators of change.

The Graduate School at UW-Stout is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools (NCA) to offer programs at the master's and education specialist levels.

International Student Requirements:
Admission requirements include: (1) Admission to a graduate degree program and the Graduate School; (2) English proficiency TOEFL score of at least 173 computer-based and 500 paper-based or 213 computer-based, 550 paper-based depending on which program is chosen, and 61 Internet-based. Test scores should be sent directly to UW-Stout (school code #1740); (3) Official copies of all post-secondary transcripts (translated into English), including proof of baccalaureate and/or highest earned degree; (4) Undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale; (5) specific program requirements. Contact program directors for information; (6) Documented evidence of sufficient financial resources to complete a degree program; (7) the enclosed application form along with a non-refundable application fee payable to UW-Stout in U.S. funds.
