Degree Offered
M.S.W.-Social Work, Ph.D.-Social Welfare
Format: Campus
Program Description:
The School of Social Work is consistently at the forefront of developing a conceptual understanding of social work practice and policy, and of producing research in important social problem areas. Faculty commitment to advancing social work practice through the development of social work knowledge has been reflected in studies that rank schools of social work on scholarly productivity and reputation. In fact, the most recent study (1995) found that the UW-Madison School of Social Work is one of only four graduate social work programs nationally to rank in the top 10 percent (of 113 graduate programs and 300 additional undergraduate programs) of schools of social work.
