Program Description:
The Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is a collaborative department within the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health that pursues the goal of understanding, preserving and improving the health of human populations and individuals. Our research-oriented programs are designed to provide rigorous, interdisciplinary training to prepare MS and PhD students to conduct, communicate and share research aimed at the protection, promotion and restoration of health in human populations. Our interdisciplinary approach prepares students to be leaders in their professions by instilling strong methodological research skills together with understanding of basic biological, epidemiological, social and behavioral, and health services constructs with a population-based focus.
