Program Description:
Cognition is concerned with the central processors for information-handling. Cognitive approaches to information processing include such topics as conceptual thinking, reasoning, problem solving, creativity, cognitive skills, attention, memory, cognitive aspects of perception, and psycho linguistics. Because many human tasks involve cognitive processes, there are many connections to other specialty areas within psychology. These specialized interests include theories of representation of information, cross-cultural differences in thinking, individual differences in cognition, and cognition and the brain.
