Program Description:
The University of West Georgia offers two graduate programs in Middle Grades Education leading to the following degrees: M.Ed. in Middle Grades Education and the Ed.S in Middle Grades Education. The M.Ed. in Middle Grades Education provides advanced preparation in teaching with a focus on the student's area of concentration (e.g., Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science). The program consists of thirty-six (36) semester hours of course work. The Specialist (Ed.S.) in Middle Grades Education provides for an in-depth knowledge of the teaching field and utilization of research methods. The program consists of twenty-seven (27) semester hours.
