Program Description:
The Master of Education with a major in art education is designed to increase and further develop the skills necessary for successful kindergarten through twelfth grade teachers and to obtain a T-5 Certificate. An art portfolio is required before a student can be admitted to the program. The portfolio should consist of 10 - 20 pieces and include examples of the candidate's compositional skills, drawing abilities and sensitivity to both their chosen subject matter and media.The program combines twenty-seven hours of studio art, art history and art education with nine hours of professional education courses. A thesis or research project is required for the Master of Education in Art Education. **Program not accepting applications for 2009-2010 year.

All graduate degree programs in teacher education are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
Eligibility Requirements:
The Miller Analogies Test (scores received after October 2004) are also acceptable.
