Program Description:
Medicinal chemistry is a hybrid discipline that focuses on the study of the relationship between chemical structure and biological effect. By its very nature, medicinal chemistry relies on the methodological tools of a variety of fields including organic chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology. As a consequence, training in the area provides the student with a broad perspective on the interaction of foreign molecules with living systems and the resulting biologicalconsequences.
