Program Description:

These initiatives have attracted prestigious AHRC funding for online scholarly editions and bibliographies, and have underpinned important publishing ventures such as the English language HarperCollins Encyclopedia of Wales.

Staff involved in the work of CREW, and the wider field of comparative literature, have attracted major scholarly distinctions that include one Fellow of the British Academy (FBA), and have organised such important scholarly events as the triennial international Conference of the British Comparative Literature Association. A cognate activity was the major multi-institutional research programme on Transnational Communities / Diasporic Cultures (of which the Department of German was a coordinator) funded by the ESRC as part of the Axial Writing project.
