Program Description:

The MS in Clinical Research degree requires a 31 credit curriculum. The MPH degree offers two areas of specialization (Research in Practice and Health Policy, Law, and Ethics), and requires students to complete a 42 credit curriculum. Both degrees include a final project, most commonly a publishable thesis or a practicum with a local health organization, but other options such as a grant proposal or project related to a student's current work (for those in mid-career) are also possible. The project must be defended before Department faculty. Core coursework is completed in the fall semester. The spring is devoted to specialized coursework in a student's chosen track and the completion of the thesis or project. While the M.S. curriculum may be completed in one school year, the MPH program requires 2 full-time years. Part-time options are available for both programs. Accreditation:

The Master of Public Health Program (MPH) at the University of Virginia, has been accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) since 2006.

Eligibility Requirements:

On-line application, application fee, GRE's (MCAT, LSAT, GMAT can be used in lieu of the GRE), TOEFL (international applicants only), Statement of Intent, two letters of recommendation, and official transcripts from every University attended.
