Program Information
Degree Offered
Ph.D. Nanotechnology Training
Format: Campus
Program Description:
The newly established Nanotechnology Training Program at the University of Utah allows Ph.D. candidates in the basic and health sciences, to acquire interdisciplinary training in nanotechnology alongside the regular Ph.D. curriculum. The program provides a $25,000 stipend, tuition waiver and health insurance for those students accepted into the training program.
Nanotechnology is a developing and challenging field that does not easily fit within a single academic discipline. Students, trained in traditional graduate programs such as engineering, physics, pharmaceutics or other scientific area are often unprepared to tackle the unique challenges and opportunities that nanoscience and nanotechnology provide. The application period is currently underway for the 2011/2012 academic year, and will end January 15, 2011. Students selected for the program will also need to be accepted to the University of Utah.
U.S. News and World Report recently recognized the University of Utah as one of "The Best National Universities" in the country. The U of U is also internationally recognized for its research in a wide-array of the basic and health sciences.
