Program Description:
The PhD Program in IR/HR is designed to produce scholars who wish to conduct high-level theoretical and empirical research and teach at major research institutions. Students have conducted research in the following areas:
• Human resources management
• Labor-management relations
• Collective bargaining and dispute resolution
• Organization development and change
• Labor market and social policy

Eligibility Requirements:
Students are admitted under the General Regulations of the School of Graduate Studies. A Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources (MIRHR) from the University of Toronto, or equivalent, is required. Other students may be required to enrol in a preparatory year. A minimum B+ standing, or equivalent, is required in the previous master's program. Applicants must submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) results. Applicants whose primary language is not English and who graduated from a university where the language of instruction and examination was not English must write the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
