Program Description:

Qualitative methods of research are employed in a variety of disciplines, from anthropology, sociology andcultural studies to policy studies and education. In the last 20 years there has been considerable growth ofinterest in their use in psychology. In 1991, a report commissioned by the Scientific Affairs Board of the British Psychological Society proposed that the future development of major areas within psychology might be facilitated by a wider use of qualitative methods in both teaching and research.
