Program Description:

The Master of Arts Program in Japanese Literature provides advanced study of Japaneseliterature and language. These subjects are studied not only to deepen the students'understanding of them, but also to consider the nature of literature and language ingeneral. To accomplish these ends, there should be an awareness that Japanese literatureand language form a part of the literature and languages of the world and it maysometimes be necessary to see the object of research in relation to them. Literature andlanguage are related to almost all human behavior and its environment so attention shouldbe given to related areas of study such as social and natural sciences.
