Program Information
Degree Offered
M.A. - Intercultural Relations
Program Description:
The Master of Arts in Intercultural Relations (MAIR) is designed to provide students with the skills and understanding to respond appropriately to the challenges of working across cultures in both national and international organizations. The MAIR prepares students to meet the demands of managing and harnessing complex cultural diversity in our increasingly multicultural society. Designed for adult professionals who find the schedule and structure of a traditional full-time masters program unsuitable for their situation, MAIR students complete the core courses in 18 months through attendance in three 2-week residencies held in the Portland area every six months in January and July. Directed course assignments are completed at home between the residency periods. Elective and thesis research can be focused on students work or volunteer experiences.
