Program Description:
The College of Nursing at the University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) is pleased to offer the Nursing Education Certificate program. This 10 credit hour, three course program can be taken as part of the Master of Science in Nursing-Nursing Education degree plan or separately.
The Nursing Education Certificate is offered to BSN or Graduate prepared registered nurses. A three course sequence is offered online. This program targets BSN graduates seeking a teaching certificate to enhance teaching skills and post-masters nurses seeking a teaching career. The nursing education certificate prepares nurses for educational leadership in teaching traditional and non-traditional nursing programs to meet the needs of a diverse student population.

The Master of Science in Nursing Program is a member of the National League for Nursing Council of Baccalaureate and Higher Degree Programs in Nursing. The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) is the entity within the National League for Nursing that is responsible for the accreditation of nursing education schools and programs. The Master of Science in Nursing is accredited by the NLNAC.
