Program Description:

Our goal is to produce graduates with the technical competence to compete with anyone in geotechnical engineering. For this purpose, we offer a series of comprehensive courses and opportunities for student/faculty interaction. The emphasis at The University of Texas is on the practice of Geotechnical Engineering. We teach theory as it relates to engineering practice. The general aspects of Geotechnical Engineering are emphasized so graduates can move into diverse areas of the field, and can be prepared to participate in new developments and applications which will evolve during their professional lives.
