Program Description:

The Department of Anthropology, in collaboration with the Center for African and African American Studies, at The University of Texas at Austin offers M.A. and Ph.D. specializations in African Diaspora Studies. This pioneering graduate program employs the tools and methods of anthropology in cross-cultural and comparative research on African-descended societies and communities. Course offerings cover the breadth of anthropological sub-fields, including archaeology, folklore, linguistic anthropology, physical anthropology, and social anthropology.
