Program Description:

Teachers who specialize in working with young children (birth through grade 3) may want to add the Early Childhood Endorsement to their initial teacher certificate. The required nine hours of coursework may be incorporated into a master's degree program developed in consultation with the Graduate Advisor. Students are required to take the following three courses (in any sequence) as well as provide documentation of one year of successful teaching experience in an early childhood classroom approved by the Texas Education Agency or complete a practicum experience in an ECE setting. Candidates also must pass the ExCET in Early Childhood Education.
