Program Description:
The graduate program in Sport Studies derives its intellectual identity from psychology, sociology, andanthropology, as well as from multiculturalism, ethnography, feminist theory and other specialized forms of inquiry. Offering areas of specialization in either Sport Sociology or Sport Psychology, the Sports Studies Program prepares students to teach in the sociocultural areas of Sport Studies (e.g. sport psychology, sociology of sport) within higher education and/or to conduct work in these fields within more applied educational, social, political, and sport settings. Students are expected to obtain a significant grounding in the allied parent disciplines.
