Program Description:

The Master of Science Nursing degree offers graduate-level study with adult and family nurse practitioner concentrations.

The adult and family nurse practitioner concentrations prepare the advanced practice nurse for roles as primary care providers. Opportunities in a variety of settings position the well-prepared nurse practitioner to enhance access to excellent health care for all.

Nursing faculty have established collaborative relationships with more than 120 facilities and area experts in numerous health disciplines. This network helps prepare students for primary care and clinical management roles in pediatrics, adult and family health, geriatrics, women’s health, administration, informatics, education, and other fields.

Admission to the MSN Program is competitive. Students must have earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 hours of coursework.

The University of Tampa's nursing programs are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. The curricula of the Department of Nursing are registered with the Florida Board of Nursing. The University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, and master’s degrees. The department holds membership in the Council of Baccalaureate and Higher Degree Programs in the National League for Nursing and in the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
