Program Description:
In the Business Information Systems program we focus on transforming students into professionals who can effectively manage, and derive strategic value from, information and information-related technologies. The program is designed for students with a pre-existing knowledge of business who want to improve their understanding of how managers can most benefi t from using business information systems. Students develop their expertise across a number of streams in the degree in order to meet their specific career needs and aspirations.
The program builds a core business and technical body of knowledge and skills in critical analysis, problem solving, report writing, group work and presentations. An integrative project also gives students the experience of working together on the practical application of course materials. The Discipline of Business Information Systems comprises of a multidisciplinary team with a strong commitment to practice-based and industry-relevant teaching.
Accreditation:
The educational requirements for professional-level accreditation with the Australian Computer Society (www.acs.org.au) can be satisfied by completing at least six Information
Systems units as part of this degree.
