Program Description:

The Southern Miss Dept. of Marine Science offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in marine science and hydrographic science. A limited number of graduate assistantships are available to qualified students including a full-tuition waiver. These awards also include a monthly stipend. Programs of study include a master's degree and a doctoral degree in Marine Science and a unique master's degree in Hydrographic Science that is certified at the Category A level by the FIG/IHO.

International Student Requirements:

Bachelor's or master's degree from an acceptable learning institution that is equivalent of a USM degree- Acceptable TOEFL score for applicants whose native language is other than English- Acceptable GRE scores- 3.0 GPA or above for last 2 years of undergraduate work; 3.5 GPA for previous graduate work- 3 strong letters of recommendations from academic peers- State of interest that demonstrates writing skills- Copy of research- Proof of immunizations- Hard copy signed application form- Paid application fee- Completed and signed Affidavit of Financial Support form- Proof of visa entry and passport
