Program Description:
The department offers courses leading to the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in the following three broad areas of specialization: economic theory and quantitative methods; applied economic theory (including industrial organization and public economics); and international, developmental, urban, regional and comparative economics. The programs are designed to prepare students for careers in teaching, research, industry and government. In all of its programs the department combines rigorous training in theoretical and econometric tools and their applications to important social problems and policy.
