Program Description:
The program offers: comparative study in major literary genres and periods and in contemporary literary theory. There are particular strengths in drama and fiction; classical, medieval, Renaissance, and 18th thru 20th century literature; and in the theories of structuralism, semiotics, post structuralism, narratology,feminism and psychoanalysis. Specialized study is offered in non-Western traditions and in interdisciplinary subjects such as literature and gender studies.
