Program Description:
The Master of Science in Civil Engineering (M.S.C.E.) offers emphases in construction engineering, earthquake engineering, environmental engineering, ocean engineering, soil mechanics and foundations, structural engineering, structural mechanics, hydraulics and water resources, and transportation engineering. The Ph.D. in Civil Engineering program offers the following areas of concentration: earthquake engineering; geotechnical engineering; structural engineering; structural mechanics; water resources and hydraulics. Computer-aided research is emphasized, and research sponsored by government and industry grants often forms the basis of student dissertations.
