Program Description:

The Business Technology Education Master of Arts is a practical and progressive program that allows you to combine teaching with business experience. This program provides you an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in areas of advancing technology; current business trends and educational practices. As part of the program you will take courses in the College of Education and the College of Business. This program prepares you for instructional opportunities both in the classroom and the workplace. The formal BTE curriculum in Florida is offered in Middle school, Secondary, Post-secondary, Technical and Community College environments. Office and technical training opportunities are growing in most industries throughout the state. Presently, there is a high demand for business educators in the State of Florida, both in schools and the workplace. Program Prerequisites30 Semester Hours to include a minimum of 3SH of credit in each of the areas specified below:Accounting Economics Computer science Business communication(or composition above the freshman level) Business Law Business Technology Education Master of Arts plans available: Plan I - A program of study designed for those with a baccalaureate degree in Business Technology Education and appropriate initial teacher certification who desire to increase their competence in the Business Technology Education specialization or receive professional preparation in one of the service areas. Plan II - A program of study designed for the holder of a non-education baccalaureate degree who desires to meet initial teacher certification requirements for grades 6 - 12 as part of a planned program leading to the Master of Arts degree. Plan III - A program of study designed for holders of a non-education baccalaureate degree who do not wish to meet teacher certification requirements in the State of Florida.
