Program Description:
The MA Japanese Studies offers a flexible range of units in the social sciences combined with rigorous language tuition at beginners, and intermediate levels.
Students may choose from units on the society, business environment and international relations of Japan. These will address such questions as:
What are the implications of globalisation for the Japanese state?
How have women contributed to Japan's economic development?
Why is 'public memory' important to our understanding of Japan today?
The language programme offers a range of entry points and offers rigorous and intensive skills development.
