Program Description:

A major component of our mission involves training the next generation of scientists and public health professionals to join in the effort to reduce the impact of infectious diseases worldwide. Our extensive research, community intervention, education and training programs will provide you with a dynamic educational experience and be key to achieving your professional goals. We have a commitment to high quality graduate education that is consistent with our leading cutting-edge research and behavioral health and community education programs. The degree programs draw upon the disciplines of molecular biology, immunology, epidemiology, medicine, health education, and community intervention to provide our students with opportunities to participate in cross-disciplinary research into multiple aspects of infectious diseases. International Student Requirements:

The University of Pittsburgh requires all foreign students to take the TOEFL examination and have a minimum score of 550 on the written exam, a minimum score of 213 on the computer-based exam, or a minimum score of 80 on the iBET Internet based test.
