Program Description:
The goal of the Wharton Ph.D. program in accounting is to produce graduates capable of pursuing rewarding academic careers at leading research-oriented universities. For example, the most recent graduates have taken positions at: MIT, University of Chicago, Carnegie-Mellon University, University of Michigan, UCLA, and USC. Only a few students are admitted into the doctoral program each year, which enhances the faculty-student interaction. Because the primary emphasis of the program is on preparing graduates to contribute to accounting research, successful candidates must possess a strong aptitude for abstract thinking and quantitative analysis.
